Live like a Yogi at Jicaro Island Ecolodge
Granada, Nicaragua, April 27, 2010 - A five-day yoga retreat, July 3-8, 2010, on a private island in Nicaragua entitled “The Daily Life of a Yogi” taught by Miami based instructor Alexandra Santos will not only provide guests with a deeper understanding of the Ashtanga method of practice, philosophy and daily ritual workshops will help students make the practice of yoga a part of everyday life.
"The Daily Life of a Yogi is ideal for the guest who wants to focus and improve their Ashtanga yoga practice. The small size if the group and the ability to get one-on-one attention from a teacher of Alexandra’s calibre is very rare,” says Adrienne Ward, owner of BigWorldSmallPlanet and organizer of the retreat. “This is a very personalized retreat and perfect for someone travelling alone or with a partner.”
Santos’ has specifically designed this retreat to help students gain a deeper understanding of how to bring their yoga practice deeper into their lives. Created to answer the questions: Why am I so stiff some days? What should I eat to feel happier, healthier and enhance my practice? How can I maximize the effects of my practice into my daily life? The Daily Life of a Yogi retreat will show how an active practice will result in improved circulation, flexibility, stamina, a light and strong body and a calm mind. Workshops and discussions will also be held on the philosophy of Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama (the art of breathing control) - proper alignment and safety.
An added speciality of BigWorldSmallPlanet is combining exceptional yoga experiences with opportunities to also learn about the destination and its culture. Therefore, guests to Jicaro Island will also explore Nicaraguan culture and scenery as part of their retreat and even help teach yoga to local school children. The retreat has been created for a maximum of 16 students. Reservations may be made online at here and people may call Adrienne directly at 323-401-8970 for more information.
